The DV Visa, also known as the Diversity Visa or Green Card Lottery, is a U.S. immigrant visa program that grants permanent residency (Green Card) to individuals from countries with historically low immigration rates to the United States. Each year, up to 55,000 Diversity Visas are made available through a random lottery selection process.
Winning the DV Lottery gives eligible applicants the opportunity to live, work, and study permanently in the U.S.

To qualify for the Diversity Visa:

DV Visa holders receive permanent residency upon entry to the U.S.
Green Card is valid for 10 years and is renewable
