The K-1 Visa, also known as the Fiancé(e) Visa, is a non-immigrant visa that allows a U.S. citizen’s foreign fiancé(e) to enter the United States for the purpose of getting married. Once the fiancé(e) enters the U.S., the couple must marry within 90 days, after which the foreign national can apply for adjustment of status to become a permanent resident (Green Card holder).

After adjustment, the individual receives a 2-year Conditional Green Card, which can later be converted to permanent status
