CR-2 Visa (Conditional Resident Visa for Children)
The CR-2 Visa is a family-based immigrant visa designed for the unmarried children (under 21 years old) of a foreign spouse who is immigrating to the U.S. on a CR-1 Visa. This visa allows children to enter the United States as conditional permanent residents along with their parent.
What is a CR-2 Visa?
The CR-2 Visa ensures that dependent children of a foreign spouse can join their family in the U.S. If the parent’s marriage to the U.S. citizen sponsor is less than two years old, the child also receives conditional residency.
After two years, the child must apply (together with the parent) to remove conditions and receive a 10-year Green Card.
