P-2 Visa (Reciprocal Exchange Visitor Visa)

The P-2 Visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows foreign nationals to come to the United States to perform as artists or entertainers under a reciprocal exchange program between organizations in the U.S. and their home country. It is ideal for performers who participate in cultural exchange programs or collaborative performances.

What is a P-2 Visa?

The P-2 Visa is designed for foreign nationals who are:

  • Artists or entertainers participating in a reciprocal exchange program.

  • Part of a group or individual performance agreed upon between a U.S. organization and a foreign organization.

Key features of the P-2 Visa include:

  • Visa validity typically ranges from the duration of the program up to 1 year, with possible extensions.

  • Allows eligible spouse and unmarried children under 21 to accompany the visa holder on P-4 dependent visas.

  • Requires sponsorship by a U.S. employer, agent, or organization.

  • Enables temporary work or performance in the U.S. under a reciprocal cultural exchange agreement.

Why Choose a P-2 Visa?

  • Gain legal work authorization in the U.S. for artists and entertainers under a reciprocal exchange program.

  • Spouses and children can accompany the visa holder on P-4 dependent visas.

  • Opportunity to perform in collaborative cultural exchange programs in the United States.

  • Ideal for performers seeking international exposure and cultural exchange experience.

  • Can be extended for additional performances within the scope of the program.

  3. Visa Application & Interview: Apply for P-2 visa at the U.S. consulate and attend an interview.

  4. Entry to the U.S.: Upon approval, enter the U.S. to participate in the exchange program.

  5. Program Completion: Performances and activities must follow the agreed reciprocal exchange program.
